Use these checks when a file will not upload or Next: Add Signers remains unavailable.
Check the file requirements
The upload form accepts up to five PDFs, with a maximum of 25 MB per file.
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The file is not a PDF | Export or save it as a PDF in the application used to create it, then select the PDF. Changing only its filename extension does not convert it. |
| A file exceeds 25 MB | Reduce its size using an approved PDF tool. Check the resulting pages are still legible. |
| More than five files are selected | Reduce the selection to five or fewer files. |
| Drag and drop does not work | Select Browse Files and choose the PDFs directly. |
| Next: Add Signers is disabled | Confirm a PDF has uploaded and the required Name is populated. Review any validation message. |
| Signed PDF not allowed | The PDF already contains a digital signature or certificate. Select Remove, then upload the original unsigned PDF or obtain an unsigned copy from the document owner. |
Check the file itself
Open the PDF locally and confirm it displays correctly. If it does not open, obtain a fresh copy or export it again from its source application.
Try again
Return to Documents → Upload Document, select a PDF that meets the limits, and complete the required name. Continue when Next: Add Signers becomes available.
If the problem continues
Contact SignDex support with the error text, browser name, file type, approximate size, and number of files selected. Do not send document contents unless support needs them and you are authorised to share them.
